Pancake griddle temp guide
The best griddle temp for pancakes, what happens when the plate runs too hot, and where they should sit in a bigger breakfast cook.
In short
For pancakes on a griddle, aim for about 350-375F. Around 350F is a good starting point for most batches.
The rough idea
Pancakes want a steadier bit of heat. Too cool and they stay pale. Too hot and the middle lags behind while the outside looks done.
How to split it
Keep pancakes away from the hottest bacon or potato zone. A middle section of the griddle usually works better and gives you more control.
Use the planner
Add pancakes with bacon, eggs or hash browns and get a cleaner split across the griddle.
