Hot dog griddle temp guide
The best griddle temp for hot dogs, how hot to run the plate for better browning, and where buns should go if you are doing the whole lot.
In short
For hot dogs on a griddle, aim for about 350-375F. That usually gives you solid browning without making them split for no reason.
The rough idea
Hot dogs are pretty forgiving, but they still turn out better with the right heat. Too cool and they just sit there. Too hot and the outside can split or catch before you have decent colour.
How to split it
Keep hot dogs on a medium zone. If you are toasting buns as well, move those down to around 325-350F on a gentler patch so they warm through without burning.
Use the planner
Add hot dogs, buns and sides into the tool and get one clear heat-zone plan.
